DAY 15-18. Taiwan @ Celebrity Millenium

The ship spent 3 full days in Taiwan.
The 1st port of call was Kaohsiung  is the largest harbor in Taiwan, Republic of China, handling approximately 10 million twenty-foot equivalent units worth of cargo in 2007.
The port is located in southern Taiwan, adjacent to Kaohsiung City, surrounded by the city districts of Gushan, Yancheng, Lingya, Cianjhen, Siaogang, and Cijin.
It is operated by Taiwan International Ports Corporation, the Taiwan's only state-owned harbor management company. The port was a natural lagoon before being eventually developed through into a modern harbor over the period of several hundred years. At the time of 16th century, some villages had already established on the seashore of the present-day Kaohsiung, which was called as "Takau" by natives at that time.
The most important highlights here: Lotus Pond, Confucius Temple, Dragon and Tiger Pagoda and the Chihji Taoist temple.

On the 2nd day from Keelung I spent a full day in Taipei.
The name of the city  means "North of Taiwan", officially known as Taipei City, is the capital city and a special municipality of Taiwan.
Situated at the northern tip of Taiwan, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei. It is about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city Keelung.
The city is mostly located on the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed bounded by the two relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border.
The city proper is home to an estimated population of 2,7 million people forming the core part of the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area which includes the nearby cities of New Taipei and Keelung with a population of 6,9 million the 40th most-populous urban area in the world. The term "Taipei" can be either referred to the whole metropolitan area or city proper itself.
Taipei is the political, economic, educational, and cultural center of Taiwan, and one of the major hubs of the Chinese-speaking world. Considered to be a global city, Taipei is part of a major high-tech industrial area.
Taipei is home to various world-famous architectural or cultural landmarks which include Taipei 101Chiang Kai-shek Memorial HallMengjia Longshan TempleNational Palace MuseumPresidential Office Building, Martyr’s Shrine and several shopping streets and night markets dispersing over the city.

On the 3rd day I discovered Keelung, the port city with many of temples and interesting streets.
